Human Resources Manager (Onsite * Full-Cycle HR * HR Team of One)
We are partnering with a respected wealth-management firm in Fort Lauderdale to hire a Human Resources Manager who will independently oversee the full HR function. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced HR professional with proven, hands-on management of full-cycle HR and full-cycle payroll. The successful candidate will bring strong operational discipline, advanced analytical skills, and experience working within a regulated environment-preferably financial services or wealth management.
This position is 100% on-site in Fort Lauderdale. Remote or hybrid work is not available.
As the sole HR leader, you will manage all HR and people-operations activities for a team of approximately 50 employees. Your day-to-day work will span talent acquisition, employee relations, end-to-end payroll, benefits administration, compliance oversight, HR reporting, and ongoing process improvement. You'll collaborate directly with senior leadership and play a key role in sustaining a polished, client-centric, high-performance culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary HR contact for employees and leaders
- Lead recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and offboarding
- Manage employee relations with discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment
- Maintain and enhance company policies, procedures, and compliance practices
- Support performance review cycles, goal-setting, and employee development initiatives
- Manage complete payroll processing - taxes, deductions, audits, reporting, and system updates
- Administer benefits programs including enrollment, changes, and employee support
- Partner with external vendors, brokers, and auditors as needed
- Ensure all payroll and benefit activities follow regulatory and industry standards
- Maintain accurate and secure HRIS and payroll data
- Prepare HR reports, workforce metrics, and data analyses
- Use advanced Excel capabilities (pivot tables, formulas, v-lookups, reporting) to support decisions
- Uphold compliance across employment law, payroll requirements, and wealth-management regulatory expectations
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency
What You Bring
- 5-7+ years of hands-on HR and payroll experience
- Demonstrated experience owning full-cycle HR and full-cycle payroll independently
- Advanced Excel skills - pivot tables, formulas, data manipulation, analytics
- Strong operational mindset with an analytical, process-driven approach
- Experience in a regulated industry, ideally wealth management or financial services
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
- HRIS experience; Workday knowledge is a plus but not required
- Highly preferred: BA/BS degree and/or HR certification (PHR or SHRM-CP)
